We are searching for a Trauma Education Coordinator – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll create and coordinate centralized and decentralized staff development programs, performance improvement initiatives and special projects for the Trauma Program. This role acts as a clinical expert and consultant for trauma nursing and injury prevention education to staff providing care to trauma patients. Additionally, you will provide education to outside hospitals related to trauma, trauma care and trauma transfers.

Responsibilities :

  • Designs, implements, coordinates and evaluates educational programs for staff caring for trauma patients
  • Manages special projects and performance improvement initiatives for the department
  • Coordinates continuous state of readiness initiatives for department
  • Provides and coordinates education across the continuum for staff managing trauma patients and coordinates community/EMS outreach and education


  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Five (5) years clinical nursing experience
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification issued by the Emergency Nurses Association
  • Broad knowledge of: nursing functions, patient care activities within the inpatient setting, patient care policies and procedures, clinical inpatient staff competencies, quality improvement concepts and regulatory agency requirements
  • Ability to manage diverse clinical and non-clinical projects, develop plans that assist an individual’s staff development, and group facilitation and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills
  • Strong skills using office related software
  • Quick adaptation to clinical situations and fast learning of clinical equipment operation
  • The following is preferred:
    • Trauma experience
    • Some leadership experience
    • ENPC and PALS instructor status
