We are searching for an Assistant Director of Radiology Informatics – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll ensure high quality Radiology services required to achieve timely, cost-effective, quality patient care through the coordination and supervision of Radiology Informatics functions. In this position you will also closely collaborate with Hospital Information Services and Biomedical Engineering partners. This position oversees the activities of PACS Administrators, Program Analysts, and other technical and professional staff in setting priorities, enforcing methodologies and coordinating resources.

Responsibilities :

  • Communication and coordination of operations among IDS entities including policies, problem resolution, quality
  • Participate in development of departmental and institutional strategic planning for area of responsibility
  • Maintain knowledge of future directions in regards to regulation, quality, compliance, improvements in technology
  • Assist in developing and implementing policies related to the creation and use of information generated by diagnostic services
  • Allocation of resources to meet departmental RIS projects/objectives
  • Ensure systems are upgraded on a consistent basis to ensure the department is leveraging the systems strengths efficiently
  • Maintain knowledge of organizational strategy as it pertains to area of responsibility
  • Manage Radiology systems downtime, errors and other interruptions in service in collaboration with medical staff, nursing, Information Services and other Departments collectively impacted
  • Manage projects for installation, upgrade, changes, quality review, interface installation, etc
  • Assure maintenance of data integrity, quality and security; plan for and assess backup and retrieval of files
  • Work with vendors and (i.e. IS, Biomed, facilities) to define an appropriate maintenance plans Coordinate planning, development and revisions of policies and procedures Track and report recurrent technical or user education problems to appropriate departmental leadership
  • Lead the Radiology Informatics Team


  • Bachelors of Science in Information Technology, Radiological Sciences, or Healthcare/ Business Administration required
  • Possession of a Master’s degree in Information Technology or Business/ Health Information can be substituted for two (2) years of relevant work/ supervisory experience
  • Five (5) years of formal work experience related to area of Imaging/ Radiology Informatics
  • Three (3) years of supervisory or managerial experience
  • Knowledge of all aspects of information technology including a comprehensive working knowledge of interfaces in a health care and Radiology setting including PACS, PowerScribe 360, Primordial, Teleradiology, & EPIC Radiant (RIS)
  • Advanced knowledge of operating systems software, hardware and peripheral device setup & configurations
