We are looking for a Manager of Application Support for Texas Children's Health Plan.  Must have experience within the Health and Human Services areas managing both 3rd party vendor applications as well as internal applications with some customized development.  Claims processing applications management experience is required.  Experience managing projects with Agile and Scrum highly desired.   

Responsibilities :

PURPOSE:  This position is responsible for managing specified Business Applications within the Health Plan. In this role, the position is expected to maintain performance within the designated applications, manage and develop staff, continuously improve the quality of processes, and work with Leadership to implement new ideas defined for Health Plan needs. 


POLICY SETTING RESPONSIBILITIES:  The person in this job is responsible for creating new policies associated with the jobs purpose and essential responsibilities following standards set by the Director and Assistant Director of Business Operations.


DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:  Routine decisions to insure the quality and timeliness of completing projects and resolving issues. Develops strategies to continuously improve existing applications and adapting to changes.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:  Formally responsible for supervising the staff assigned to support their designated business applications. 


Required for completely satisfactory performance in this job is the skill and proficiency in applying highly technical principles, demonstrated analytical, problem solving and research ability as evidenced by experience in the identification of business requirements and the subsequent implementation of appropriate software configuration solutions to business problems. 



Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals. Must have evidence of leadership, creativity, integrity and initiative, and sound problem solving skills. Must provide attention to detail and follow up.  


Formal Educationand Experience

The formal education and experience required for completely satisfactory performance in this job are as follows: · Bachelor’s degree or four years of related work experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree.   · Five years of experience in management of health insurance payor systems or applications management experience.
