Summary:

We are searching for a Cardiac Technician -someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll perform technical and clerical functions pertinent to the Cardiology ECG Lab. In this position, you will be responsible for performing appropriate tests, ensuring representative 24-hour Cardioscan analysis for physician interpretation, responding to STAT calls when necessary, and assisting the Cardiology Fellow and/or Exercise Physiologist in the Exercise Lab.

Responsibilities :

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs 15-lead electrocardiograms (including Rhythm Strips, Atrial ECG’s, and Esophageal ECG’s, and Cardioscan Monitor placement for both inpatients and outpatients 
  • Performs inpatient ECG’s as requested by scheduled time 
  • Documents completion of ECG’s and Cardioscan Monitors in each respective logbook 
  • Prepares patient for exercise testing including appropriate instructions and correct electrode placement 
  • Completes service item charge form for each ECG, Cardioscan, or Exercise Test performed and places in appropriate box for the business office to pick up 
  • Write patient name, medical record number and name of physician in ECG log book with documentation of the test performed 
  • Distributes reports to appropriate destination by MUSE, fax, or mail within 24 hours of receipt from interpreting physician 
  • Retrieves reports from MUSE System as requested by physicians or co-workers 
  • Attends all mandatory staff training/development meetings as documented in staff meeting minutes 
  • Inspects equipment daily and reports all malfunction of equipment to manager or biomedical engineering

 



Qualifications:

Skills & Requirements

    • A high school diploma or equivalent 
    • Successful completion of mandatory CPR check-offs (infant, child, adult) annually. 
    • Minimum of 1-year experience as an ECG Technician is preferred 
    • Knowledge of field from reading pertinent educational material or courses taken 

Ability to operate the following cardiac equipment: 

  • Mac 5500 ECG machine 
  • 24 hour Cardioscan
  • MUSE/MARS systems
