We are searching for an Occupational Therapist, Clinical Generalist - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll plan, evaluate, organize and implement Occupational Therapy treatment programs in a developmentally and age appropriate manner for patients ages 0 - adulthood.

Performs patient care and related activities
Completes patient evaluations and reassessments in accordance with hospital and department guidelines
Develops an individualized plan of care based upon evaluation/reassessment findings according to hospital and departmental guidelines
Performs patient care and related activities within the scope of their training and responsibilities, demonstrating basic clinical competencies
Communicates effectively with patient/family/manager/department staff/physicians and other health care professionals to promote quality patient care
Provides instruction/education to patients and families/care givers
Assesses patient and family needs regarding their level of understanding, ability to assimilate information and the most desirable method of teaching
Provides accurate and thorough information consistently to patients and families concerning their participation in the patient's continuity of care
Documents information in patient medical record
Documents patient information in Electronic Medical Record according to hospital and departmental guidelines
- Participates in staff and student development
- Plans, coordinates and presents post-workshop training to department staff per department guidelines
- Performs other essential functions
- Works with departmental staff and other health care professionals to promote teamwork through volunteering regularly to help others when time allows
- Attends health, safety and training in-services and other mandatory Hospital activities
- Maintains a current awareness and participates in departmental and hospital quality activities
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
Current Texas state license to practice occupational therapy
Two (2) years pediatric, clinical experience
Knowledge and understanding of rehabilitative care of patients with acute and chronic conditions, and knowledge of development from the ages of neonate to adulthood
At least two (2) years of pediatric or sports medicine experience preferred
Must be articulate, courteous, and supportive in dealing with hospital, administrative and departmental personnel, patients and parents with ability to honor confidentiality
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
Utilize basic office equipment such as fax, copier and PC
