We are searching for a Director of Advanced Practice Providers– someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll assume administrative responsibility for Advance Practice Registered Nurses (APRN), ensure all regulatory, credentialing and clinical standards are consistent with laws governing APRNs in the State of Texas. Oversees and participates in recruitment, orientation, and retention of all APPs. Mentors and supports APPs in their professional development. Coordinates continuing education opportunities for APPs and facilitates development of APPs practice standards.


Responsibilities :

  • Coordinates an infrastructure for APPs through support of the credentialing process in collaboration with Medical Staff Services
  • Develop a process to collect, verify, and evaluate data relevant to professional performance
  • Mentors APPs to develop leadership skills to enhance their performance by identifying professional practice trends that impact on quality of care and patient safety issues
  • Evaluation through chart review; direct observation; monitoring diagnostic and treatment techniques; and, peer review
  • Oversees implementation of departmental-based performance improvement for ongoing professional practice evaluation
  • Provides consultation to the Credential Board for granting of privileges for APP practice
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with medical leadership, direct reports and appropriate interdepartmental liaisons to ensure the achievement of identified goals.
  • Ensures creation of a work climate that fosters employee participation, satisfaction and organizational commitment as measured by annual employee survey results, turnover rates, and employee initiatives
  • Develop and administer all budgets – hospital and professional – associated with the APP team
  • Support departments that utilize APPs to establish mechanism for advancing current roles



  • For APRN, a Master's Degree in Nursing is required with certification in specialty arena
  • RN - Lic-Registered Nurses from Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners
  • APN - Lic-Registered Nurses from Texas Board of Nurses
  • 5 years nursing experience (inclusive of 3 years of management/leadership experience)
  • Knowledge of Patient Care Delivery Model, Budgeting and Variance Analysis, Word Processing Software, Spreadsheet Software, Quality Improvement Concepts
  • Ability to Monitor and Improve the Quality of Nursing Care, Oversee Staff Development, Demonstrate Group Facilitation Skills, Operate a Personal Computer
