Summary:

We are looking for the right Physician Assistant for our Surgical ICU specialty, someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will provide medical services within the education, training and experience of the physician assistant, through delegation of the supervising physician in the department of surgery.

 

 



Responsibilities :

  • Provide quality patient care within the education, training and experience of the physician assistant, through delegation of the supervising physician within an inpatient setting
  • Work independently to assess, diagnose, treat, and educate patients, consulting with physician as needed
  • Provide appropriate clinical documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system for all patient encounters.
  • Perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations for all patients
  • Responsible for inpatient consults and rounding.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, PAs, NPs, nurses and our resident team
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families and clinical team

 

 



Qualifications:

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Current license from Texas Medical Board to practice in the State of Texas
  • Current certification by National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants

 

 

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Master’s degree
  • Current BLS and PALS certification
  • DEA and DPS certifications
  • Fundamental knowledge of pediatric assessment and treatment
  • Knowledge of related OSHA, CLIA and JCAHO guidelines and requirements
  • 2 years pediatric patient care experience or experience in Surgery or ICU
