Summary:

We are looking for the right Physician Assistant for our Interventional Radiology specialty, someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will provide medical services within the education, training and experience of the physician assistant, through delegation of the supervising physician in the department of Radiology.

The Interventional Radiology department is run by a distinguished expert in clinical procedures and research for this important area. The team utilizes state-of-the-art imaging and cutting edge tools/techniques to conduct minimally invasive procedures for children ranging in size from less than one pound to adult size. Responsibilities :

  • Provide quality patient care within the education, training and experience of the physician assistant, through delegation of the supervising physician within in inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Work independently to assess, diagnose, treat, and educate patients, consulting with physician as needed
  • Provide appropriate clinical documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system for all patient encounters.
  • Perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations for all patients.
  • Responsible for inpatient consults and rounding.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, PAs, NPs, nurses and our resident team
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families and clinical team
  • Majority of time spent in inpatient consultation and hospital rounding with minimal procedures 

 

 



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Current license from Texas Medical Board to practice in the State of Texas
  • Current certification by National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants

 Desired Skills & Experience

  • Master’s degree
  • Current BLS and PALS certification
  • DEA and DPS certifications
  • Fundamental knowledge of pediatric assessment and treatment
  • Knowledge of related OSHA, CLIA and JCAHO guidelines and requirements
  • 2 years pediatric patient care experience or experience in Interventional Radiology
