We are searching for a Protection Force Sergeant - someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you’ll protect the staff, patients, visitors and assets of Texas Children’s Hospital in supporting the Texas Children’s Hospital by providing a visible first line security presence, efficiently handling customer inquiries, requests for assistance, and ensuring smooth traffic flow. To provide support to the Operations Manager, Security Services (Protection Force), Security Supervisor, and Protection Force Lieutenants as required.
Think you’ve got what it takes?
Provides security functions at designated posts during varying hours and shifts
Patrols the hospital as assigned, observing all conditions inside and outside of the hospital for potential threats to the safety of patients, visitors, employees and medical staff
Controls traffic and parking in designated areas
Safely operates and maintains Texas Children’s Hospital owned vehicles as directed by supervisor and departmental procedures
Certified in Basic Life Support and use of AED and Personal Protective Equipment
Attends and completes hospital and departmental required training
Performs as Protection Force Team Leader as directed or in the absence of the Protection Force Lieutenant on the assigned shift
High School diploma (or equivalent)
Three (3) years of security experience
Two (2) years supervisory experience
Meet the Texas Department of Private Security Board (TDPSPSB) requirements
Valid Texas Driver’s license and safe driving record
