Summary:

We are searching for a Staff Pharmacist – someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you’ll promote pharmaceutical care by managing the medication process, identifying and preventing potential related problems, and resolving actual drug-related problems. This role performs the duties of a registered pharmacist as defined by Texas Children’s Hospital. Additionally, you will perform all responsibilities in a manner developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served (0-adult).

•Ensures medications and patient care meets the highest standards
•Participates in the education of patients, caregivers, and the community
•Supports patient safety systems
•Communicates with others
•Engages in shift management
•Performs other essential functions



Qualifications:

•Degree in Pharmacy
•A license to practice pharmacy in Texas is required; failure to complete license requirements will result in a change of job status and salary
•Medication knowledge base
•Knowledge of pediatrics and proper handling of hazardous substances
•Maintaining validation of departmental and area specific competencies
•Incumbent must be able to work under pressure and work closely with others continuously throughout the day
