Summary:

We are searching for a Mgr PM&R – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will direct, manage, and coordinate the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department's daily inpatient/outpatient operations related to the provision of therapy services and provide clinical direction to therapists, technicians and students. You will serve as a mentor to clinical staff; plan, evaluate, organize, design and implement treatment techniques and programs in a developmentally and age appropriate manner for patients ages 0 – adulthood within the scope of demonstrated clinical competencies. You will effectively coordinate daily operations to maximize patient flow, internal and external customer expectations and patient satisfaction. You will provide effective leadership and support of the various systems and administrative operation sections of the PM&R Department. Lastly, you will ensure appropriate and adequate staffing through effective recruiting, interviewing, candidate selection and ongoing performance management.

Responsibilities :

  • Manages PM&R Department daily operations to ensure efficiency, compliance and accuracy while maintaining optimum levels of patient and family satisfaction
  • Reviews processes to identify gaps between requirements and current outputs; identifies “possibilities” via benchmarking or other external comparisons
  • Generates ideas for solutions; analyzes the effect or impact of each solution; selects appropriate solutions.
  • Coordinates clinical training and mentoring for licensed and nonlicensed staff based on identified individual and department needs and organizational requirements
  • Coordinates and oversees clinical training for university program occupational therapy and physical therapy interns
  • Collaborates with Risk Management regarding resolution of contract issues and manages affiliation contracts
  • Organizes orientation for new employees and student interns and ensures that new employee/student orientation procedures are completed
  • Facilitates professional development of direct reports for optimal contribution towards organizational and departmental priorities and goals


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology with 2 or greater years of leadership/management experience
  • Or Master's Degree Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Therapy
  • BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support
  • OT - Occupational Therapist, PT - Physical Therapist, or TX-SLP - Texas Speech Language Pathology
  • 8 years of health care experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
