Summary:

We are searching for an Assistant Director for Biomedical Engineering Community — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll be responsible for the day to day departmental operations in the community outside the Main Campus. This includes all departmental aspects of the operating budget, technical staffing, equipment planning for projects, project coordination, equipment evaluation, medical equipment management program development and maintenance, departmental hardware/software systems development and maintenance, materials management and supervision.

Responsibilities :

  • Initiates, implements and monitors the quality, efficiency, and responsiveness of the engineering services provided by the department
  • Mentors and guides Managers in department to meet departmental goals
  • Monitors efficient and effective allocation of labor and materials resources
  • Initiates and Implements improvements in resource allocations
  • Aids Director in management responsibilities for the medical equipment maintenance program
  • Initiates and implements improvements in equipment management plans
  • Mentors and guides Managers in department to met departmental goals
  • Collects, analyzes, and prepares medical equipment engineering evaluation reports, failure analysis data and other metrics for reporting and action by the department and other institutional committees.
  • Prepares, analyzes, and documents the operating and capital budgets for the Biomedical Engineering Department.
  • Works with mangers to identify and plan for technical and non-technical staff development as needed.
  • Implements special objectives that may require the exercise of guided management. Plans all medical equipment for projects, prepares equipment list for projects and prepares requisitions for project equipment purchases
  • Performs room by room checks to ensure the “as built” follows the project floor plan including infrastructure needed to support equipment


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Technology Management
  • Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Technology Management is preferred
  • Masters Degree Candidates: 4 years of Experience working in a healthcare environment and knowledge of healthcare delivery system models with two (2) years of progressive supervisory experience in managing patient care equipment program in a hospital setting.
  • Bachelor's Degree Candidates: 12 years of Experience working in a healthcare environment and knowledge of healthcare delivery system models with eight (8) years of progressive supervisory experience in managing patient care equipment program in a hospital setting
