We also provide procedures such as antibiotic injections, breathing treatments, fracture care and splinting, IV (intravenous) fluids, lab services, laceration repair and x-rays on-site.

Summary:
We are searching for a Medical Assistant-Urgent Care who can thrive in a fast-paced primary care environment. In this position you’ll gather information, assess and provide direct care to patients. Also, you’ll work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to render age appropriate care.

Responsibilities :
Assists with the collection of patient/family data
Prepares patient for examination per practice protocol
Administers medication and immunizations as directed by physician per practice protocol
Charts physician-patient encounters in real-time during medical exams, under the supervision of a provider using the electronic medical record and existing templates
Assists with education of patient/family
Assesses patient’s eligibility for referral by verifying coverage with payer prior to initiating referral
Screens presenting patient complaint per practice protocol
Collects and processes specimen according to manufacturer’s instructions and using proper technique
Maintains certification by fulfilling continuing education (CE) requirements as directed by certification agency
Demonstrates Creating SMILES philosophies to patients, families and co-workers
Qualifications:
Knowledge of pediatric assessment and treatment
Awareness of related OSHA and CLIA/COLA guidelines and requirements, general office tasks, confidentiality and filing system
Understanding of medical terminology
High school graduate/GED
Graduation from a medical assisting or emergency medical technician program preferred.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
