We are searching for a Director of Business Services – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will be responsible for coordination and management of the professional fee billing and collection communications to the academic sections comprised of pediatric medicine, pediatric surgery and women's service. This leader provides insights and direction necessary to positively impact the performance of revenue cycle functions in collaboration with the clinical and administrative section leadership. The leader will inform and influence the sections regarding efficiency and effectiveness performance opportunities including operations activities associated with patient accounts commencing with ambulatory patient registration through final resolution. Responsibilities include leadership aspects of revenue cycle communications, continuous performance improvement and revenue recovery in concert with other revenue cycle leaders, practice administrators, section leaders and executives.

Responsibilities :

  • Achieve the enterprise goals of increasing cash collections in proportion to expected reimbursement, lowering the level of uncollectable accounts for bad debt and uncompensated care arising from payor denials and process failures
  • Analyze performance, develops and present monthly reports to clinical and administrative leaders including physician in-chiefs, section-chiefs, individual physicians, and operational and executive leaders in a timely manner
  • In concert with other revenue cycle leaders, facilitate the organizations adoption of industry change relating to professional clinical revenue. Manage the revenue cycle’s relationships with outsourced professional fee billing and collection vendors
  • Develop, communicate and defend the business cases for appropriate in-sourcing of revenue cycle functions
  • Lead and/or participates in strategic projects that enable the revenue cycle operation to establish and exceed organizational objectives including, annual revenue growth, wRVU generation tracking and trending, billing system technical redesign, process improvement / workflow redesign
  • Set annual goals for revenue cycle staff
  • Ensures staff assignments are appropriate and formal training and other experiences are available to foster learning and development
  • Develops and supports an ongoing quality assessment and improvement program that targets the most important aspects of services provided by the department



  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4 years of revenue cycle, managed care, continuous quality improvement, and/or business administration experience
  • Master's Degree preferred
