Texas Children's Hospital is searching for a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care certified to work as the Assistant Director of Advanced Practice Providers working in the Pediatric Cardiology, Pulmonary and Renal areas. In this position, you'll provide 24-hour accountability for the clinical, administrative and human resources activities for the Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). You will practice in an advanced role and to coordinate the delivery of high quality, family centered and developmentally appropriate patient care within the designated clinical areas.

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for all patient-focused activities in designated service area including (but not limited to) assessments, procedures, interpretation of data and patient/family counseling
  • Partners with staff, medical and unit leadership to ensure clinical excellence
  • Participates as full partner with Chief/Medical Director to ensure department communication
  • Participates in the development of policies, procedures, and practice guidelines to optimize APP practice within the institution
  • Facilitates delivery of safe, effective, and patient/family centered care that is timely, efficient, and equitable
  • Improves patient care through scientific inquiry and by incorporating evidence based practice into direct patient care
  • Promotes education of health and illness by contributing to APPs, student organizations, and universities
  • Participates in transforming professional practice through promotion and dissemination of health care knowledge beyond the individual practice setting
  • Oversees regulatory functions of the APP role including monitoring of licensure, credentialing, certification, billing and coding, reimbursement, and other regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrates astute fiscal accountability for areas of clinical responsibilities utilizing appropriate management and justification of resources which includes, personnel, equipment, supplies, and capital
  • Completes timely performance appraisal






  • Master Degree in Nursing (PNP-AC preferred)
  • PNP-AC - Cert-Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Texas Board of Nursing Or PA - Cert-Physician Assistant Texas Medical Board
  • 5 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse, or Physician Assistant 
  • 3 years of Management/leadership experience
