We are searching for an Exercise Specialist – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll administer and supervise personalized exercise programs for chronically ill children and adolescents, as well as apparently healthy children, adolescents and adults. Additionally, you will coordinate and administer the employee fitness program. You will perform specialized fitness tests upon physician referral for patients and the non-patient clientele; coordinate the exercise science internships at the Wellness Center; and assist in the planning, development, coordination, and implementation of all approved activities of the Wellness Center.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide patient care
  • Oversee conditioning programs
  • Educates staff, students, patients, patient families and the community on fitness topics
  • Initiates or assists in developing and implementing research projects inside and outside of the PM&R Department
  • Maintains an orderly and safe environment
  • Maintains inter- and intra-departmental communication and relationships


  • Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, physical education, health promotion or related specialization required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate from the American Heart Association required
  • Certifications in exercise test or conditioning programming preferred
  • Aquatic program experience preferred
  • Medical/Wellness Center experience preferred
