We are searching for a Pathology Manager – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide effective leadership and efficient operation of their responsible section(s) and/or shifts of the Laboratory in compliance with Departmental and Institutional goals. You will coordinate, supervise, and manage section activities to ensure that high quality laboratory services and testing are provided to patients in a timely and cost effective manner.

Responsibilities :

  • Manages Human Resources Activities
  • Ensures Implementation of a training and competency program for all employees (new hires, existing employees, and those requiring retraining)
  • Monitors workflow, TATs and other performance metrics; makes adjustments to daily assignments as needed
  • Works with manager of Quality Assurance to ensure regulatory compliance (CAP, CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, JCAHO)
  • Maintains integrity of system, file maintenance, report, label, and collection list printing as related to assignments and requirements for section/shift
  • Prepares cost analyses for new procedures and evaluates cost analysis of existing procedures
  • Monitors overtime expenses and provides overtime justifications each pay period


  • Bachelor’s Degree in clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical or biological science
  • 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting
  • One or more of the following: MT-ASCP - Cert-Medical Technician, MLS-ASCP - Cert-Medical Lab Scientist, CLS - Cert Laboratory Science, MB-ASCP - Cert-Tech Molecular Biology, MP-ASCP - Cert-Tech Molecular Pathology, BB-ASCP - Cert-Tech Blood Bank, C-ASCP - Cert-Technologist in Chemistry, H-ASCP - Cert-Technologist Hematology, M-ASCP - Cert-Technologist Microbiology, AMT - American Medical Technologist
  • 4 years of supervisory experience in a clinical laboratory preferred
  • Preferred Certification: Specialist in Cytometry, SCYM (ASCP)
