Summary:

We are searching for a Radiology Generalist – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll preform quality routine and specialized radiographic procedures at the request licensed independent practitioner for interpretation by radiologists. As the generalist will integrate scientific knowledge; technical skills, patient interaction and compassionate care resulting in diagnostic information, and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. You will also demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology. Lastly, you must maintain a high degree of accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure technique.

Responsibilities :

  • Confirms patient identity with approved identifiers
  • Demonstrating age appropriate care with all patients, appropriately prepares patients for procedures
  • Provides clear and detailed information regarding the procedure to the patient, family and others
  • Provides information to patients, health care providers, students and the public concerning the role and responsibilities of individuals in the profession
  • Performs routine, portable, STAT, urgent, on-call and intraoperative diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopy cases while accurately demonstrating anatomy and pathology through proper diagnostic scanning.
  • Follows fall precautions, isolation standards and universal precautions 100% of the time.
  • Documents fluoroscopic time and radiation exposure.
  • Documents incidents, variances, unusual circumstances or patient concerns.
  • Responsible for precise, complete and accurate data entry and image management in appropriate technology infrastructure: EPIC, PACS, etc.
  • Applies patient safety principles during all aspects of radiographic procedures, including assisting and transporting patients
  • Seeks opportunities to assist in overall patient care activities: assists radiologist and others as requested or needed
  • Communicates effectively with appropriate medical staff to answer associated clinical care questions

 



Qualifications:

  • A technical diploma and graduate of a formal diagnostic Radiology program
  • R-ARRT - ARRT RegTech Radiography from the American Registry of Radiology Technologists
  • CMRT - Cert Med Radiologic Techngst from the Texas Medical Board
  • Knowledge of Radiology physics and procedures; understanding of Radiology principles that are developmentally appropriate for ages 0 – adulthood
  • Operation of all required equipment including troubleshooting when necessary of the equipment, including automated processors, copying/digitizing film equipment, R.I.S., and PACS
  • Basic life support and medical terminology understanding is required
