We are searching for a Technical Application Advisor – someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, develop, analyze and advise IDS and/or IS staff on technical solutions as they apply to applications across the IDS. You will be responsible to review and provide advice on application requirements, application and processing architectures and designs. You will also develop, amend, optimize, and certify application and system design of Integrated Delivery Systems. Lastly, you will be responsible for the identification and resolution of the application information flow, the application integration and the required infrastructure needed to support application requirements.


To qualify for this role you must have desktop management skills, Vmware View or Citirix XenApp/ Xen Desktop experience, and AppSense knowledge. Experience with Windows 10 implementations is also required. 


This role will work at the Feigin Building of our main campus in the heart of Houston's medical center.

Responsibilities :


  • Coordinate new development and make sure it is consistent and well integrated with existing information data structure



  • Lead and engage in business analysis, information acquisition analysis and design, data access analysis and design, archive and recovery strategy, security, and change management



  • Identifies and recommend tools and technologies using best practices/industry standards to support strategic direction and to assist in deploying appropriately business initiatives Identifies alternative ways to utilize the application & technologies for projects that are impacted by performance and/or business issues



  • Leads development and maintenance programming activities with management, other Information Services personnel, users, or vendors during all phases of the system life cycle



  • Participates in meetings concerning user consulting, systems analysis, system design, and vendor contracts



  • Develops documentation standards



  • Prepares documentation in compliance with standards Supports system operations by problem analysis and resolution development



  • Provides emergency support for malfunctioning systems as required 24 x 7




  • High school or GED



  •  Eleven (11) years of major system design and implementation experience






  •  Bachelor’s degree will substitute four (4) years of work experience and Master’s degree will substitute for two (2) years of work experience



  •  Knowledge at expert level of current application and system development techniques



  •  Ability to demonstrate logic, analytical and effective verbal and written communication skills



  •  Have team-oriented work habits



  • Ability to adapt to different levels of technical experience



  • Additionally all candidates should have solid technical skills with VDI, strong process and documentation skills.
