Texas Children’s Urgent Care offers high-quality, efficient and affordable care in nine convenient community locations across the greater Houston area. Texas Children’s Urgent Care has also expanded to serve the children and families of Austin, Texas, with its first community location in South Austin. Pediatricians at Texas Children’s Urgent Care are board-certified and diagnose and treat a wide variety of ailments, illnesses and conditions, including: asthma, strep throat, fever, minor burns, influenza, ear infections, allergic reactions and more. Procedures provided include: antibiotic injections, breathing treatments, fracture care and splinting, IV (intravenous) fluids, lab services, laceration repair and X-rays on-site. Texas Children’s Urgent Care accepts major insurance plans and has self-pay rates, which are less than emergency center charges, and there are no hospital fees. A complete list of insurance plans is available on the website. Texas Children’s Urgent Care specializes in after-hours care, but does not replace the need for children to have a general pediatrician. Summary:

We are searching for a Clinical Dietitian – someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you’ll be responsible to assess nutritional needs of patients, develop and implement nutritional care plans, and communicate information to those in need in a manner developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served.

Responsibilities :

  • Collaborates with other professionals to integrate and communicate nutrition principles that enhance patient outcomes.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary rounds and care management meeting/huddles and interacts with the care team to coordinate the implementation of the nutrition care plan
  • Coordinates/transitions care across the continuum
  • Participates in, interprets and uses research to enhance clinical practice
  • Mentors peers and coworkers in the application of evidence based nutrition practice
  • Maintains credentials and participates in ongoing continuing education
  • Documents nutrition care effectively within the medical record
  • Utilizes SBAR techniques to facilitate handoff to different level of care or care provider
  • Utilizes the nutrition care process appropriately to communicate nutrition plan goals and expected outcomes to care team
  • Contributes to Departmental development and visibility by actively participating in the review and revision of nutrition related resources and policies


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Registered Dietician (RD) issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Licensed Dietitian (LD) issued by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Dietitians
  • Ability to observe deficiencies and formulate actions to correct the situation, make assessments and recommendations
