Summary:

We are searching for an Child Life Activity Coordinator – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide a comprehensive play program with a focus on ensuring opportunities for normal growth and development. This role will also focus on normalization/mastery of the environment, peer to peer support by encouraging family and peer interaction, and healing experiences through play.

Responsibilities :

  • Normalizes the hospital environment and supports developmental needs 
  • Provides developmentally appropriate activities at bedside 
  • Maintains a safe, clean and well organized acitivity room environment 
  • Trains and supervises volunteers 
  • Participates in departmental responsibilities, while establishing and maintaining effective interdepartmental relations 
  • Coordination and execution of Bow Wow Buddies Program, including development and adherence to protocol/criteria for program

 

 



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, Education Psychology or other humanities or social science fields of study required 
  • 1 year of experience working with children inside or outside of a hospital environment preferred
