We are searching for a Director of Risk Management & Sr. Risk Counsel– someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will lead the Clinical/Legal Risk Management department. This role designs, implements, and oversees system-wide processes for risk identification, and aids in the reduction of safety events in collaboration with departments across the organization. This position will evaluate and expand the organization’s Risk Management program to meet the current and future needs of the organization.

Responsibilities :

  • Directs the Risk Management program, including potential claims brought against the organization
  • Provides legal counsel to the organization for risk management issues and litigation matters
  • Directs and oversees claims management and litigation strategies
  • Ensures the Joint Commission requirements specific to each department are fulfilled but also understand the linkage between Risk Management, Emergency Management & Business Continuity, and Environmental Health & Safety departments requirements and those of the organization


  • Juris Doctor Degree from an ABA-accredited law school required
  • Law License from the State Bar of Texas required
  • 10 years of investigation and claims management and/or legal experience, including 3 years of management/ supervisory experience
