We are searching for a Marketing Manager – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll increase awareness, consideration, and preference for the organization among providers, CHIP, and Medicaid members and potential members. You will manage the development and implementation of strategic, impact-oriented, professional, and community marketing communication campaigns designed to help achieve organization-specific goals.

Job Duties & Responsibilities


  • Develops strategic professional event marketing and communication plans to drive definable business impact for the organization in all markets
  • Works closely with leadership and colleagues across all marketing disciplines to implement an integrated marketing model for these areas of focus
  • Designs and manages the ongoing implementation of fact-based, goal-focused communication plans which are consistent with the overall strategic vision of the organization
  • Leads an inter-departmental team to achieve objectives
  • Represents Marketing and Communications and Community Marketing to the institution as a resource for achieving strategic goals and objectives
  • Collaborates with business unit executives and/or councils and other identified departments to achieve field marketing and communication objectives as well as opportunities and challenges appropriate for marketing intervention
  • Provides direction, leadership, and motivation, ensuring that all parties work together to achieve the bottom line measured results
  • Ensures programs/campaigns are designed to support and strengthen TCHP brand awareness and affinity among the provider and community perspective member audience and members
  • Manages the communication of marketing deliverables and execution of such programs as health fairs, member events, and strategic goals
  • Provides leadership and management oversight to team members
  • Provides ongoing mentoring, coaching, and development of employees
  • Conducts timely and relevant mid-year and annual performance appraisals
  • Assists in the development of the annual market planning, vendor negotiations, and communication plan and sponsorship execution and implementation
  • Develops, implements, and manages annual team budgets
  • Ensures all STAR/CHIP/STAR Kids event marketing and organizational participation and material is complaint with HHSC regulatory requirements
  • Monitors marketing violations and responds to HHSC
  • Manages the in-house project management tracking system
  • Ensures that all projects are delivered on time and on budget
  • Supports director with target market insights and media message placement evaluation


Skills & Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 years of marketing experience
  • Knowledge of marketing and communications principles and tactics
  • Knowledge of multicultural marketing, market research, and analytical methods; and strategic planning, business process management, and creative development
  • Ability to lead a large team and manage the implementation of efficient, cost-effective processes for producing high-impact communication strategies and media planning
  • Capability to professionally interact and effectively negotiate and communicate with a wide variety of internal and external constituents
  • The aptitude to analyze data and create strategies and tactics based on analysis
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies to create and lead high-impact teams
  • Other skills needed include: exceptional communication, computer, database, and presentation skills; a solid understanding of basic statistics, branding, and sponsorships
  • Ability to prepare appropriate analysis and effectively communicate analyses in a timely manner is required
  • Management experience preferred
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Knowledge of US Hispanic market segment preferred
