Summary:

We are searching for a Director of Nursing Newborn Center – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll provide 24-hour accountability for the clinical, administrative, and human resources activities within designated clinical service(s). This position will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality, cost-effective, and developmentally appropriate patient care in a family centered environment.

Responsibilities :

 

 

  • Ensures the delivery of safe, high quality, evidence-based, age appropriate, and cost-effective care for the Newborn Center within a family-centered care environment, as measured by variance analysis reports, patient satisfaction results, and other pertinent data
  • Mentors leadership team members to ensure development of enhanced leadership skills and promotes a consistent level of service as measured by direct observation
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with medical leadership, direct reports, and appropriate interdepartmental liaisons to ensure the achievement of identified goals. Collaborates with medical leadership on policies, procedures, guidelines, assuring staff competency, education, and training. Develops collaborative relationships with leaders of facilities within the Perinatal Care Region
  • Identifies, provides and creates opportunities for all staff’s ongoing professional development to provide a consistent level

    of service.

  • Develops and prioritizes service-based goals that support the IDS Strategic Plan as measured by direct observation



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Master’s degree in nursing or healthcare related field
  • Registered Nurse license - Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification 
  • 5 years of experience in progressive leadership in a large hospital, children’s hospital, or academic and/or teaching hospital
  • Experience leading a Level III or IV NICU is preferred
