We are searching for a Communications Center Operator I – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll answer and direct incoming and outgoing telephone calls, place pages, process emergency procedures and maintain telecommunications-related records.

Responsibilities :


  • Answers and directs incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner
  • Places pages for Hospital personnel, patient families and physicians, and enters pager status changes in paging system
  • Enters departmental on-call schedules in the system and updates "Red Note" file daily
  • Processes emergency calls including Code Red, Code Pink, Dr. Pyro (fire) alerts, disaster, bomb threats and others
  • Performs other essential job-related duties




  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One year of experience as a telephone switchboard operator required
  • Experience in a healthcare environment preferred
