We are searching for a Cancer Center-Clinical Director – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll be responsible for 24-hour accountability of the clinical, administrative, and human resources activities within inpatient and outpatient areas. This role will be primarily responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality, cost effective, developmentally appropriate patient care in a family centered care environment.

Responsibilities :





  • Ensures the delivery of safe, high quality, age-appropriate, cost effective care and/or service within a family-centered care environment, as measured by quality outcomes, financial analysis reports, patient satisfaction results, patient complaints, regulatory compliance, and new programs/initiatives



  • Mentors other leaders in order to enhance their performance and promotes the ongoing development of staff as measured by observation, records of development sessions, and feedback from leaders and staff



  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with medical leadership, direct reports, and appropriate interdepartmental liaisons to ensure the achievement of identified goals



  • Ensures the creation of a work climate that fosters employee participation, satisfaction, and organizational commitment as measured by employee survey results, turnover rates, and employee initiatives and other pertinent data



  • Develops and implements service/departmental based priorities that support the organization’s strategic plan and continually improve performance as measured by departmental statistics and trends, benchmarks, and quality improvement initiatives



  • Ensures that Joint Commission and other regulatory body requirements specific to the department are fulfilled but also understand the linkage between the designated department’s requirements and those of the organization



  • Collaborates with colleagues in other departments to ensure all Joint Commission and other regulatory body requirements are met










  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing AND



  • Master’s degree in nursing, business, or healthcare related field



  • Registered Nurses License by Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners



  • Five (5) years of nursing experience, including three (3) years of management experience



  • Certification in nursing specialty (CPHON, Nurse Executive, etc) by the American Nurse Credentialing Center (APHON) is preferred



  • Experience in strategic planning oncology and process improvement preferred



  • Experience with hematology/oncology
