We are searching for a Manager of Finance— someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. This position will assist the Chief Financial Officer and the Director of Finance in overseeing the financial aspects of the Health Plan. This role will also oversee its

subsidiary corporation by establishing and maintaining a framework in which the Health Plan performance can be continuously measured and compared to targeted goals. You will also oversee the preparation of statutory and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities :

  • Maintains a framework to continuously monitor the Health Plan and its subsidiary corporations
  • Ensures that the finances of the department are recorded in accordance with GAAP as well as statutory reporting requirements
  • Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of external financial reporting submitted to the Texas Department of Insurance and to the Health and Human Services Commission
  • Oversees the preparation of all accounting estimates including an actuarial estimate for claims expense (incurred but not reported) and coordinates actuarial certification of such estimates
  • Responsible for overseeing the patient collection and write off function for the department
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for the operations of the Finance department
  • Responsible for achieving increased efficiency levels in the departmental workflows of the department


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 6 years’ experience in accounting or financing required
  • A Master's degree can be substituted for 2 years of experience, and a Ph.D. can be substituted for an additional 2 years of experience
