We are searching for a Senior Financial Analyst- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll assist the Government Reporting department in maintaining a framework in which Texas Children’s Hospital’s financial and statistical performance can be continually measured against quantifiable targets established by all levels of authority, ranging from departmental managers to the Board of Directors. In this position you’ll provide input and makes recommendations regarding policies affecting reporting processes. You will be making routine decisions which include determination of data validity and report presentation for management reporting and analysis, and deciding how data should be organized to provide the most effective information to the end user.

Responsibilities :

  • Prepares applications for program funding and support for external audits
  • Prepares models and pro-formas to predict impact of programmatic changes
  • Prepares annual state and federal reporting requirements
  • Prepares ad hoc cost and reimbursement analyses
  • Analyzes variances between current year actuals, budgeted targets and prior year actuals
  • Works collaboratively with other departments as needed to identify data and develop inputs for analyses and reporting requirements
  • Performs special projects as assigned by manager or above
  • Assists in the analysis and interpretation of data used in making decisions throughout the IDS


  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Finance, Accounting, or Business 
  • Five years of financial or accounting experience (A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business may substitute for two years of the experience requirement.) 
  • Ability to use Microsoft applications including Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) 
  • Knowledge of budgeting processes and principles 
  • Knowledge of financial analysis and reporting principles
