We are searching for a Director of Clinical Support Operations – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll be responsible for providing leadership, direction, and support for the development and enhancement of clinical support operations within the Clinical Business Office in order to oversee strategic initiatives, daily operations, programmatic growth, and translate strategic planning into operational decision-making.


Preferred:  Nursing Informatics Experience

                  Nursing Quality Experience

                  Nursing Professional Certification

Responsibilities :



  • Directs departmental operations to ensure the delivery of safe, high quality, age- appropriate, care and/or service within a family-centered care environment, as measured by patient satisfaction scores, patient complaints, performance improvement indicators, regulatory compliance and new programs/initiatives



  • Provides leadership and support in setting the strategic direction for Texas Children’s Patient Flow and Clinical Support Departments



  • Encompasses the strategic leadership of census management and patient flow efforts across the entire TCH system to ensure appropriate access to care



  • Develops and implements patient flow and clinical support services priorities that enhance the organization's strategic plan, achieve agreed upon outcomes, and solicit improvements in clinical technology, patient flow, resource management, and other departmental objectives



  • Leads efforts to ensure the provision of outstanding service to all customers including internal colleagues and patients/families



  • Establishes and maintains effective, strong, collaborative relationships with executives, directors and other leaders across the system, identify and resolve problems quickly and appropriately, and ensure communication is maximized to ensure the achievement of identified goals



  • Collaborates with various departments to engage frontline health care providers, support departments and clinical leaders in operational planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical systems



  • Leads process transformation necessary to promote development and optimization of clinical systems that assures quality and safe patient care based on best practices, research, benchmarking, and evidence



  • Ensures the provision of effective onboarding, training and development opportunities for staff and leaders across Nursing areas in order to continually improve departmental and organizational performance and develop talent to ensure ongoing departmental success and growth, as measured by improved individual, team, and departmental performance and a talent management plan





  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing



  • Master's Degree Nursing, Business, or Healthcare related field And



  • RN - Lic-Registered Nurses Texas Board of Nurses 


  • 5 years nursing experience (including 3 years of management/leadership experience)
