Summary:

We are searching for a Pharmacy Supervisor – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll coordinate activities related to the procurement, record keeping, storage, and distribution medications by associated technical personnel, assist the department by overseeing the operations, record keeping, auditing, and documentation of medications within the automated dispensing machines (AMDs).

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for daily operations for inventory management related to ordering, receiving, and distribution of all medications and supplies
  • Set par levels of medications and supplies in areas of responsibilities
  • Communicate to manager of any problems in the procurement of controlled substances
  • Coordinate the removal of expired medications from all pharmacy area and return to DEA monthly
  • Maintain activities associated with ensuring compliance and appropriate inventory control
  • Perform routine visits to patient care and pharmacy areas to ensure compliance with controlled substance policies and procedures
  • Investigate all discrepancies with medications
  • Ensure the daily medication count of controlled substances stored in the vault is performed
  • Assist in the oversight of operations for the ADMs
  • Aide the Support Service Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the ADMs including inventory, reports, trouble shooting, and database management by strictly following database management guidelines
  • Perform routine medication audit of the nursing ADMs
  • Complete mandatory health, safety, and training requirements
  • Complete timely performance appraisals for direct report
  • Assure that new staff attend departmental orientation within 30 days of employment
  • Report financial performance on a monthly basis
  • Develop and modify job descriptions as necessary
  • Prepare and submit annual capital and operating budgets
  • Conduct appropriate investigation and follow-up on individual patient complaints


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • RPHT-TX Certifications required
  • 2 years’ experience as Pharmacy Technician preferred
