Summary:

We are searching for a Manager of Cost Accounting—someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. This position will assist the Director of Decision Support by coordinating and managing the functions of the Cost Accounting team for the organization as well as associated analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities :

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership for the costing process and makes refinements and necessary corrections to the existing methods
  • Communicates directly with leadership as needed concerning costing processes and projects
  • Assists the Director with the evaluation of new cost accounting and reporting methods while assisting in the development and implementation of new tools to enable improved costing accuracy and reporting
  • Leads the identification of key costing statistics, the design of data models, and information flow
  • Assesses key cost indicators for wide-impact initiatives to recommend targeted action
  • Provides statistical cost information, and analysis from the decision support system to assist in budgeting and financial reporting
  • Organizes meetings with department managers/leaders to provide education on the cost methods
  • Establishes yearly costing review processes and timelines
  • Leads the cost accounting team on department reviews and provides guidance on the allocation of expenses
  • Oversees various cost information that can be used by management and meets with appropriate stakeholders as needed to discuss and review costing needs and concerns
  • Plans, leads, and prepares other types of costing and financial analysis as directed by the Director of Decision Support


Qualifications:

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or healthcare administration required

  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business or healthcare administration preferred

  • 5 years’ experience in cost accounting or decision support analytics, including 1 year of supervisory or project lead experience required

  • A Master’s degree in accounting or finance can add 2 years of experience to the candidate’s total years of experience
