Summary:

We are searching for a Manager of Pediatric Services/NICU, Community-Based Hospital Initiatives – someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you’ll manage daily clinical and personnel activities for the designated clinical area(s) at the host hospital, as well as provide administrative support to the Director. The Neonatal Program Manager is responsible for the provision of neonatal care services and coordinates and participates in the delivery of high quality, developmentally appropriate patient and family centered care at the unit level.

Responsibilities :

 

 

  • Maintains clinical competency, by ensuring that physiologic, psychosocial, and developmental needs of the patient are met within a family-centered environment

 

 

  • Ensures the staffing needs of the designated clinical areas are adequately met.

 

 

  • Monitors productivity and assures that staffing resources are aligned with patient care needs.

 

 

  • Observes, identifies, and addresses human resources issues for assigned staff

 

 

  • Hires, coaches, counsels, and develops nursing staff to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care

 

 

  • Collaborates with the Neonatal Care Director in areas to include, but not limited to: developing and/or revising policies, procedures and guidelines, assuring staff competency, education, and training; the QAPI Program, and regular participation in the neonatal QAPI meetings.

 

 

  • Coordinates and collaborates patient care needs with appropriate members of the healthcare team to achieve desired clinical outcomes and management of care across the continuum

 

 

  • Demonstrates effective communication skills with health care team and works to eliminate communication barriers

 

 

  • Serves as a liaison between physicians, families, nursing staff and ancillary departments

 

 

  • Demonstrates accountability for cost effective management of human resources, equipment, and supplies while ensuring the department achieves patient care goals

 

 

  • Assumes authority and responsibility for monitoring the provision for neonatal patient care services from admission, stabilization, through discharge, inclusive of the Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.

 

 

  • Participates in unit-based quality initiatives for the purpose of developing and monitoring clinical outcomes that demonstrate nursing excellence.

 

 

  • Develops collaborative relationships with other NPM(s) of designated facilities within the application Perinatal Care Region.

 

 

  • Supports the implementation of unit goals and communication of the host hospital's strategic plan to staff

 

 

 



Qualifications:

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)

 

 

  • Current RN licensure by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners

 

 

  • NRP – Certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program from the American Heart Association

 

 

  • BLS – Certification, Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association

 

 

  • Two (2) years of pediatric/neonatal nursing experience
