Summary:

We are searching for Medical Assistants – someone who works well in a fast-paced

hospital setting. In this position, you will gather information, assess and provide direct care to patients. You will work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to render population appropriate care for low-acuity pediatric patients. You will provide population appropriate care for one or more of the following age groups routinely: Neonate, Infant, Toddler, Preschool Age, School Age, Adolescent andAdult.

Responsibilities :

  • Considers population in approach to and preparation of child
  • Positions and handles child based on an understanding of developmental population
  • Implements safety measures that are appropriate to population
  • Uses age appropriate equipment and supplies
  • Communicates appropriately with each population group and their family
  • Collects and documents vital signs, height/weight and reason for visit with 100% accuracy
  • Graphs data per site protocol with 100% accuracy
  • Assists provider, as directed, during treatments, examinations and testing as directed by provider and within scope of site
  • Keeps rooms stocked with supplies per site protocol
  • Documents administration of medication and immunizations in the medical record per site protocol


Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of pediatric assessment and treatment
  • Awareness of related OSHA and CLIA/COLA guidelines and requirements, general office tasks, confidentiality and filing system
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • High school graduate/GED from an accredited organization
  • Graduation from a medical assisting or emergency medical technician program preferred.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
