Summary:

We are searching for an Optometry Technician — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll assist the Optometrist with departmental operations and technical support in the provision of coordinated patient-centered care.

Responsibilities :

  • Performs preliminary measurements and screening exams on both pediatric and adult optometry patients
  • Provides fitting services for eye glasses and all related education needed
  • Demonstrates commitment to team, flexibility, professional interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, and customer service skills
  • Provides general assistance and customer service to all Center patients/families and schedules appointments
  • Ensure safekeeping of the Change Fund for Optometry on a daily basis


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One of the following certifications issued by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO): Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT), Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT), Certified ParaOptometric (CPOT)
  • One (1) year of experience caring for and treating optometry patients in an ophthalmology clinic or optometry office
  • BLS required
