Summary:

We are searching for a Physician Assistant — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll provide medical services within the education, training, and experience of the physician assistant.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide quality patient care within the education, training and experience of the physician assistant, through delegation of the supervising physician within in inpatient, outpatient and operating room settings
  • Work independently to assess, diagnose, treat, and educate patients, consulting with physician as needed
  • Provide appropriate clinical documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system for all patient encounters.
  • Perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations for all patients
  • Participate in daily rounds for pediatric surgery patients
  • Perform minor surgical procedures independently
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, PAs, NPs, nurses and our resident team
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical team


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Current license from Texas Medical Board to practice in the State of Texas
  • Current certification by National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants
  • Current BLS and PALS certification
  • Fundamental knowledge of pediatric assessment and treatment
  • Knowledge of related OSHA, CLIA, and JCAHO guidelines and requirements
  • 2 years of surgical experience
