We are searching for a Manager of Surgical Services (RN)- Woodlands Campus — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll provide accountability for the clinical, administrative, and human resources activities on specific units(s). You will participate in the delivery of high quality patient and family-centered care at the unit level by developing, training, and enabling staff to provide quality patient care. This role will have 24-hour accountability for specialty services.

Responsibilities :

  • Ensures that the physiologic, psychosocial, and developmental needs of the patient are met



  • Demonstrates daily effective communication skills with health care team and works to eliminate communication barriers



  • Serves as a liaison between physicians, families, nursing staff, and ancillary departments



  • Creates work schedules for nurses and technicians, and posts them by established time frame



  • Ensures a systematic approach to scheduling of surgical procedures in collaboration with the anesthesiologists, physicians, and physician’s office staff based on allocation matrix and O.R. committee guidelines



  • Demonstrates accountability for cost effective management of staff, equipment and supplies for patients and department to achieve clinical care goals within 10% of budgeted amounts



  • Ensures that service goals are supportive of Hospital and departmental goals by developing yearly specialty area goals in collaboration with the Medical staff and Allied Health Team members



  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing


  • RN-BC - Registered Nurse Board Certification -State of Texas 


  • 5 years of experience with demonstrated management experience
