We are searching for a Radiology Generalist – someone who works well in a fast- paced setting. In this position, you’ll be expected to perform exceptional quality routine and specialized radiographic procedures at the request licensed independent practitioner for interpretation by radiologists. You’ll be responsible for integrating technical skills, patient interaction and compassionate care resulting in diagnostic information, as well as recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. You will need to demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology. You will also serve as a liaison between patients, radiologist and other members of the support team. You are responsible for patient care, appropriate documentation, and quality control. Lastly, as a member of the health care team, you must participate in quality improvement processes and continually assess your professional performance.

Responsibilities :

• Assesses factors that may contraindicate the procedure; such as, medication contraindications, patient risk for reaction to medications, patient history, laboratory results, insufficient patient preparation or artifact
• Demonstrating age appropriate care with all patients, appropriately prepares patients for procedures
• Maintains current knowledge on equipment, materials, medications and processes
• Performs routine, portable, STAT, urgent, on-call and intraoperative diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopy cases while accurately demonstrating anatomy and pathology through proper diagnostic scanning
• Follows procedure protocol including performance of venipuncture, administration of prescribed medications, and use of pre-exposure radiopaque markers for anatomical and procedural references
• Maintains accurate records
• Applies patient safety principles during all aspects of radiographic procedures, including assisting and transporting patients
• Responsible for quality control activities on the equipment and collaborates with appropriate parties to resolve image quality issues
• Seeks opportunities to assist in overall patient care activities: assists radiologist and others as requested or needed
• Incorporates HIPAA into all actions to ensure patient confidentiality is maintained


Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.

• Graduate of a formal diagnostic Radiology program
• Radiography ARRT- R.T. (R-ARRT) certification from the American Registry of Radiology Technologists
• Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification (CMRT) issued by the Texas Medical Board
• Broad knowledge of Radiology physics and procedures
• Understanding of Radiology principles that are developmentally appropriate for ages 0 – adulthood
• Ability to operate required equipment including troubleshooting when necessary of the equipment, including automated processors, copying/digitizing film equipment, R.I.S., and PACS
• Understanding of basic life support and medical terminology
• Ability to be courteous and be supportive in dealing with patients, parents, nursing, faculty, administrative and departmental personnel
• Ensures excellent customer service and positive guest relations are achieved as well as honors confidentiality
• Ability to independently scan patients by following the established protocols
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written skills
• Ability to utilize basic office equipment
• Bilingual skills are preferred
