Summary:

We are on the hunt for high energy and enthusiastic Medical Assistants —someone who can thrive in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position you’ll provide patient care and excellent customer service in the ambulatory setting. We need someone who can assist in the coordination of flow and provider schedules to effectively manage patient care.

Responsibilities :

  • Demonstrates positive and effective interpersonal skills, communication, and customer service skills
  • Facilitates the appointment check-in procedure
  • Collaborates with clinic staff to ensure efficient patient flow
  • Provides high quality, cost-effective patient care in collaboration with clinicians and in conjunction with the patient/family
  • Collects specimens and performs Point of Care Testing (POCT)
  • Completes check out for patients and families
  • Facilitates patient flow as the scheduling master for the clinic


Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • certification as a certified medical assistant (CMA), registered medical assistant (RMA), national certified medical assistant (NCMA), certified clinical medical assistant (CCMA), national registered certified medical assistant (NRCMA) or emergency medical technician (EMT) 
  • Two (2) years of related experience
  • Experience in a healthcare setting or customer service-focused industry is preferred
  • Outpatient clinic operations experience is preferred
  • A college degree is preferred
  • Knowledge of nursing/medical assistant patient care tasks, the managed care industry, appointment scheduling, related medical terminology and customer service concepts
  • Ability to operate proficiently a personal computer and basic clinic/patient care, office equipment
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills, good verbal communication skills, and good time management skills
  • Provide excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to demonstrate quick decision making and self-initiated work behaviors is necessary
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred
