About Texas Children's Hospital

Scheduled to open in 2017, Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands is a 548,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art free-standing pediatric hospital designed, equipped and staffed exclusively to treat children and adolescents in The Woodlands and counties throughout Greater North Houston such as Montgomery, Walker, Grimes, Liberty, Harris, Polk, San Jacinto and Hardin counties. Our new facility will include 25 emergency center rooms, 32 acute rooms, 28 critical care rooms, 12 radiology rooms and 4 operating rooms. Summary:

We are searching for a Senior Biomedical Equipment Technician - someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you will perform preventative maintenance and repair work on a wide variety of medical equipment, some complex devices, systems, and networks.

Responsibilities :

  • Performs inspections, and preventive maintenance on hospital equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment as necessary
  • Participates in project planning, tasks, and leadership as needed
  • Provides technical support and leadership as needed
  • Initiates incident investigation upon notification of incident in compliance with Departmental documentation policy
  • Participates in quality control checks on all group technical work output
  • Documents all work and materials used in compliance with the departmental record keeping system daily achieving the departmental labor recovery target
  • Effectively utilizes departmental resources
  • Attends various meetings providing relevant information as necessary
  • Review, update, correct, and/or create PM procedures for equipment within assigned area
  • Conduct other essential departmental functions


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering Technology
  • Four (4) years of experience in servicing biomedical equipment in a hospital, industrial or military setting. Other electronic equipment service experience can be considered.

OR:

  • Associate Degree in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering Technology (in lieu of Associate’s degree, an additional two (2) years’ experience can be substituted)
  • Six (6) years of experience in servicing Biomedical equipment in a hospital, industrial or military setting. Other electronic equipment service experience can be considered.
