Scheduled to open in 2017, Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands is a 548,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art free-standing pediatric hospital designed, equipped and staffed exclusively to treat children and adolescents in The Woodlands and counties throughout Greater North Houston such as Montgomery, Walker, Grimes, Liberty, Harris, Polk, San Jacinto and Hardin counties. Our new facility will include 25 emergency center rooms, 32 acute rooms, 28 critical care rooms, 12 radiology rooms and 4 operating rooms. We are searching for a CT Specialist – someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will perform exceptional quality routine and specialized CT procedures at the request of the licensed independent practitioner for interpretation by radiologists. In this position as the CT Specialist you will integrate scientific knowledge; technical skills, patient interaction and compassionate care resulting in diagnostic information, and recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. Lastly, you must demonstrate a detailed understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities :

  • Checks room daily for adequate stock necessary to facilitate continuous exam flow
  • Maintains appropriate inventory as indicated by posted par levels and updates supply lists when items are needed
  • Demonstrating age appropriate care with all patients, appropriately prepares patients for procedures
  • Provides clear and detailed information regarding the procedure to the patient, family and others
  • Addresses patient/family questions regarding the procedure and refers questions about treatment or prognosis to a licensed independent practitioner
  • Provides information to patients, health care providers, students and the public concerning the role and responsibilities of individuals in the profession
  • Working independently performs routine, STAT, urgent, and intraoperative CT cases, while accurately demonstrating anatomy and pathology through proper diagnostic scanning
  • Serves as a resource to others through assisting and educating them on procedures
  • Expert knowledge of information management systems: demonstrates systems functionalities, accurately performs functions independently and serves as a resource to others
  • Documents radiation exposure parameters, medications, use of shielding devices and radiation safety practices as required
  • Accurately and independently performs procedures, identifies and resolves issues. Seeks experiences and knowledge in the technical area to gain expertise
  • Ensures the patient is imaged in a safe environment, free of hazards
  • Positions self in challenging situations and responds with confidence, professionalism, and accuracy in the face of multiple demands and shifting priorities
  • Incorporates HIPAA into all actions to ensure patient confidentiality is maintained
