Scheduled to open in 2017, Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands is a 548,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art free-standing pediatric hospital designed, equipped and staffed exclusively to treat children and adolescents in The Woodlands and counties throughout Greater North Houston such as Montgomery, Walker, Grimes, Liberty, Harris, Polk, San Jacinto and Hardin counties. Our new facility will include 25 emergency center rooms, 32 acute rooms, 28 critical care rooms, 12 radiology rooms and 4 operating rooms. We are searching for an Exercise Physiologist - someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you will be responsible for the Exercise and Electrocardiogram Laboratories. You'll also provide assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of treatment and procedures.

Responsibilities :

  • Schedule, assess, diagnose, treat, and educate patients. Document information in patient’s chart regarding assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and education
  • Perform Preliminary and Post Cardiopulmonary Exercise Test Functions
  • Prepare patients for Cardiopulmonary Exercises tests, explains procedures, monitors test for inappropriate physiological responses, recover patient, and write interpretation of test to deliver to cardiologist
  • Verify proper function of equipment and that supply inventory is adequate
  • Improve function of Exercise Laboratory through collaboration, research, and continuing education



  • Masters degree in Exercise Science with specialization in Exercise Physiology
  • 1+ year experience in clinical exercise testing, ECG interpretation, and laboratory management
  • 2+ years experience in a clinical or hospital setting
  • Required certifications: BCLA
  • Preferred certifications: P.A.L.S, A.C.L.S, A.C.S.M Clinical Exercise Physiologist or Exercise Specialist
  • Knowledge of cardiopulmonary exercise testing and emergency procedures Excellent communication and interpretation skills
