Scheduled to open in 2017, Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands is a 548,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art free-standing pediatric hospital designed, equipped and staffed exclusively to treat children and adolescents in The Woodlands and counties throughout Greater North Houston such as Montgomery, Walker, Grimes, Liberty, Harris, Polk, San Jacinto and Hardin counties. Our new facility will include 25 emergency center rooms, 32 acute rooms, 28 critical care rooms, 12 radiology rooms and 4 operating rooms. Summary:

We are searching for an Electroneurodiagnostic Technician – someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you’ll perform one or more of the following: EEGs/Long term video monitoring; Evoked Potentials or Polysomnography; procedures according to facility policy and procedures. The Technologist will maintain patient safety during clinically significant events, and other related duties. Excellent communication skills are essential for this position. During diagnostic procedures for which competence has not been achieved, the Technologist trains under direct technical supervision. Once training is completed and all required institution competencies have been achieved, the Technologist works under indirect technical supervision.

  • Provides quality patient-centered neurodiagnostic testing
  • Seeks educational opportunities
  • Documents information in patient medical record and assists with patient billing process
  • Performs other essential job duties


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One of the following: Graduate of Electroneurodiagnostic Technology program OR one (1) year of electroneurodiagnostic experience
  • Knowledge of current neurodiagnostic techniques and pattern recognition
  • General neurodiagnostic instrumentation
  • The ability to independently demonstrate skill in one of the following areas: EEG, EEG Video Monitoring, EP, or PSG, may require direct supervision with advanced studies.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate neurodiagnostic equipment, video monitoring equipment
  • Is articulate, courteous and supportive in dealing with hospital, administrative and departmental personnel, patients and parents, with ability to honor confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good customer service
  • Ability to utilize basic office equipment and a personal computer
