Scheduled to open in 2017, Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands is a 548,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art free-standing pediatric hospital designed, equipped and staffed exclusively to treat children and adolescents in The Woodlands and counties throughout Greater North Houston such as Montgomery, Walker, Grimes, Liberty, Harris, Polk, San Jacinto and Hardin counties. Our new facility will include 25 emergency center rooms, 32 acute rooms, 28 critical care rooms, 12 radiology rooms and 4 operating rooms. We will also offer inpatient and outpatient pediatric care in more than 25 specialties including: cancer, cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, diabetes and endocrinology, urology, sports medicine, gastroenterology and nutrition, pediatric surgery, plastic surgery, otolaryngology, allergy and immunology, dermatology, adolescent medicine and physical rehabilitation. Summary:

We are searching for a Cash Applications Processor - someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you will maintain the safety and security of the cashier fund and manage the cash-on-hand received in the department in accordance with our policies & procedures.

Responsibilities :

 

  • Responsible for receiving funds from both patient and non-patient areas, preparing those funds for deposit and delivering the funds to the authorized courier(s) for transport to designated bank(s) in a manner that safeguards the assets
  • Ensures the CAP’s fund and all patient/non-patient receipts received after deposit cutoff are secured in departmental safes 
  • Verifies and reconciles funds received for deposit from various patient and non-patient related areas on cash receipts form with an expected 95% accuracy rate 
  • Ensures deposit packages are fully completed for authorized courier pickup with no more than 4 documented instances of courier late deposit fees per year 
  • Prepares bulk deposit packages for each depository bank 
  • Reviews and processes employee assistance program payments 
  • Providing patient check cashing services and front end staff change fund replenishments 
  • Is prepared noting cash on hand and all cash paid out for that day
  • Provides for the exchange of currency for the Gift Shops, Valet Services, Food Court and Clinics 
  • responsible for the safekeeping of change funds 
  • Consistently demonstrates an understanding and commitment to meeting customer service needs through cohesive teamwork, proactive and clear communication, and problem resolution skills

 



Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED 
  • Three (3) years of cash handling experience 
  • Prefer banking or related bookkeeping experience 
  • Ability to communicate effectively 
  • Use a PC with proficiency in spreadsheet application
