We are searching for our next Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner—someone who can thrive in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position you’ll administer a variety of respiratory care procedures in a developmentally/age appropriate manner for patients ranging from neonates to adults. We need someone who has a current license to practice respiratory care (RCP) in the State of Texas and is registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).

Responsibilities :

  • Performs patient care and related activities according to policy and/or guidelines. In compliance with MD order to provide optimal patient outcome 
  • Performs patient care assessment 
  • Performs medication delivery 
  • Performs airway clearance techniques 
  • Performs pulmonary function testing 
  • Provides ventilatory support 
  • Performs specialty tasks (cath lab, bronchoscopies, in-house transports to testing or transfer units, ECG, and charge responsibilities) 
  • Documents patient-related activities according to policy/guidelines accurately in a legible manner 
  • Facilitates good communication with Physician, Nursing, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate optimal patient care 
  • Provides instruction to patients and families 
  • Expands professional knowledge base and clinical capabilities 
  • Informs Supervisor of all patient/personal injury or unsafe situations, anticipated problems and unusual situations, completes appropriate related documentation 
  • Maintains and evaluates respiratory care equipment 
  • Completes studies according to guidelines, and assists or takes an active role in facilitating studies and protocols


  • Graduation from an A.M.A approved Associates certification/registry program OR may be a graduate of an A.M.A. approved Bachelor degree program in respiratory care 
  • A current license to practice respiratory care (RCP) in the State of Texas 
  • Registration by the National Board for Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) 
  • Certification in basic cardiac life support 
  • A minimum of one (1) of year clinical experience in both critical and non-critical care areas (a minimum of 6 months experience in pediatric care) is preferred 
  • Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology of the cardiopulmonary systems and infection control 
  • Knowledge of disease states, pathophysiology and pharmacology; operation of equipment used to administer routine respiratory care therapeutic modalities 
  • Ability to be articulate, courteous and supportive in dealing with hospital, administrative and departmental personnel, patients and parents with ability to honor confidentiality 
  • Ability to independently treat patients from all departments by following the established therapy plan of car 
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Demonstrate good customer service 
  • Ability to utilize basic office equipment and a personal computer
