Summary:

We are searching for a Clerical Secretary - someone who works well in a fast-paced managed care setting. In this position, you’ll provide secretarial and clerical support to department in a timely, efficient, and professional manner.

Responsibilities :

  • Addresses incoming calls and visitors 
  • Answers department telephone within three rings or less with the proper greeting in a courteous and professional manner 
  • Daily assesses the purpose of the call and handles the request as indicated 
  • Performs other essentials functions with regard to Quality and Outcomes Management 
  • Assists with accurate and timely collation of reports for regulatory-required committee meetings 
  • Verifies pagination and correct sequence of committee reports 
  • Performs other essentials functions with regard to provider credentialing 
  • Pulls and distributes provider credentialing files according to credentialing cycle 
  • Queries the National Practitioner Database regarding possible malpractice or medical board actions on providers scheduled for credentialing 
  • Demonstrates initiative, flexibility, and involvement on Health Plan/department planning and Quality Improvement activities 
  • Attends or reads all inservices and information documented in committee reports as necessary 
  • Completes typing/clerical projects and other assigned non-routine duties accurately and in a timely manner

 

 



Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Experience in health care/Insurance environment preferred
