We are searching for a Clinical Informatics Specialist II – someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you’ll utilize the knowledge and skills of clinical practice to lead the optimal design, development, evaluation, and support of clinical technology solutions utilized by care providers, ensuring that systems are consistent with professional standards of practice. This role integrates nursing science, computer science, and information science to manage and communicate data, information, and knowledge into clinical practice improvements.

Responsibilities :


  • Participates in the planning and strategic development of clinical systems
  • Translates end user needs into system optimizations
  • Provides ongoing management of clinical informatics systems
  • Supports the improvement of clinical outcomes and clinician efficiency
  • Management of complex, simultaneous projects



  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, healthcare administration, nursing or other related field
  • Five (5) years of experience in hospital information systems selection, implementation and support, or specific clinical experience in nursing, respiratory care, occupational/physical therapy, or pharmacy
  • One (1) year of experience in an informatics job role
  • One of the following licenses is required:
    • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas
    • Nurse Practitioner (NP, PNP, NNP, FNP) licensure with the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas
    • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) licensure with the Texas Department of State Health Services
    • Occupational Therapy (OT) or Physical Therapy (PT) licensure with the Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners
    • Registered Pharmacist (RPH) licensure with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
  • Knowledge of current clinical practices and computing systems, interfaces, and current standard software
  • Familiarity with various operating systems used by Hospital and data processing techniques and practices
  • Working knowledge of a variety of hardware and software environments and of the healthcare industry
  • Knowledge of Epic healthcare applications
  • Project management, planning, and leadership skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze the functionality of systems and their fit with specifications
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Key skills are observation, results oriented, and communication
  • EPIC certification and/or proficiency preferred
  • Certification in Informatics preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of information systems related experience such as super user, information systems related committees, or go-live support for information systems preferred
