About Texas Children's Hospital

Scheduled to open in 2017, Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands is a 548,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art free-standing pediatric hospital designed, equipped and staffed exclusively to treat children and adolescents in The Woodlands and counties throughout Greater North Houston such as Montgomery, Walker, Grimes, Liberty, Harris, Polk, San Jacinto and Hardin counties. Our new facility will include 25 emergency center rooms, 32 acute rooms, 28 critical care rooms, 12 radiology rooms and 4 operating rooms. We will also offer inpatient and outpatient pediatric care in more than 25 specialties including: cancer, cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, diabetes and endocrinology, urology, sports medicine, gastroenterology and nutrition, pediatric surgery, plastic surgery, otolaryngology, allergy and immunology, dermatology, adolescent medicine and physical rehabilitation. Summary:

We are searching for a Facilities Project Manager– someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you plan and manage large and/or complex renovation and construction projects for the hospital and to assist departments in developing scope, budget, and schedule for proposed construction projects. This position will require the delivery of both temporary clinic facilities and long term facilities in Africa. You will Travel with the Cancer Center team to Africa to oversee construction and selection of vendors. Applicants must be “mission-driven” – it is extremely important for someone to understand the overall mission of the program and be willing to submerge themselves with the Cancer Center team to support these efforts. This is not the typical design and construction project – we need more than “technical expertise”.

Responsibilities :

  • Development of documentation to support Fund-raising and Grant efforts to support the delivery of the project
  • Develops project scope based on customer needs consistent with standards and objectives of the hospital
  • Coordinates internal and external resources to assist in planning, designing and documenting project design in accordance with customer needs, facility standards and regulatory requirements
  • Oversees/manages construction in accordance with Interim Life Safety Measures, Infection Control, and other regulatory requirements
  • Continually reviews project progress against approved scope, budget and schedule and regularly reports status to project team and leadership
  • Leads collaborative resource team to prepare project area for customer occupancy
  • Processes final payments, closes project budget and ensures that all project documentation is distributed to the appropriate departments
  • Utilizes written communication to record decisions made and to confirm common understanding
  • Engages in follow-up with customers based on agreed-upon timeframe and departmental Procedure for Customer Service
  • Addresses conflicting information in a professional manner to arrive at resolution
  • Funnels information to appropriate parties to communicate issues, needs and resolutions on an ongoing basis

 

 

 



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five (5) years project management experience of which three (3) years of experience is managing healthcare projects
  • Working knowledge of regulatory building codes
  • Able to utilize computer word processing, spreadsheet, E-mail, project scheduling programs, and AutoCad tools

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, project management, or construction
