Summary:

We are searching for an Orthodontic Dental Assistant I – someone who works well in a fast-paced orthodontic setting in a hospital clinic. In this position, you’ll provide dental assistance in the patient care area in a manner developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served (0-18 years) and adults as necessary.

Responsibilities :

 

  • Assists orthodontist during examination and treatment of children (and adults as necessary)
  • Participates in Hospital quality improvement activities, such as committees, teams, task forces)
  • Offers written or verbal recommendations and participates in the development of team goals yearly
  • Attends staff meetings and/or reads minutes to keep abreast of current information as documented in meeting sign-in sheets
  • Attends continuing education workshops, seminars and in-services and fulfills all mandatory education requirements as documented on staff development roster
  • Performs clerical and receptionist duties


Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Registration Dental Assistant (RDA) issued by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners
  • One (1) year of experience in an Orthodontic care setting
  • Knowledge of orthodontic dental procedures
  • Computer skills
  • Ability to use dental equipment, including chairs, carts, amalgamating, curing lights and OTC sterilizer
  • Ability to work with patients with special needs
