Summary:

We are searching for an EMR Educator – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will design, develop, schedule, implement, present, and coordinate management and staff training programs for the Epic Training team to enhance personal/professional development of employees in an effort to achieve organizational goals. The EMR Educator also has a major role in developing the Epic training environment by investigating processes to understand data and communications flow with individual tasks and transactions within the hospital’s Integrated Delivery System. The EMR Educator will also delegate training tasks and develop Epic competencies for the assigned end user groups and training team members.

Responsibilities :

  • Assesses and identifies training needs for EPIC end users as needed with EPIC Production Support and Optimization teams, EPIC Customer Service, and unit-based educators 
  • Ensures programs are relevant to project scope and meet set objectives as approved by EPIC stakeholders 
  • Reviews various technology options (i.e. CD-ROM, video, web) related to topics and selects appropriate training methods 
  • Oversees development and preparation of training aids such as participant guides, handouts, evaluations, overheads, computer presentations and other visual aids to enhance participant learning 
  • Delivers individualized attention where appropriate to ensure that team members meet their individual objectives as needed 
  • Achieve certification in assigned Epic application in order to build and maintain assigned training environment patients and scenarios 
  • Gatekeeper of the EPIC training environment for assigned end user training 
  • Analyzer of current training scenarios and match to build of training environments 
  • Work closely with those responsible for updating/tracking project implementation/optimization plan
  • Conducts management and staff training programs to provide an effective and interactive learning environment as needed to meet the organizational goals and objectives


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or healthcare 
  • Four (4) years of experience teaching adult programs or related work experience particularly in an Epic EMR environment 
  • Bachelor’s degree will substitute four (4) years of work experience 
  • Master’s degree will substitute for two (2) years of work experience 
  • Direct work experience at the Epic Systems Corporation © will be counted at a premium, with every one (1) year of Epic Systems Corporation © experience counted as two (2) years of experience 
  • Knowledge of instructional and training methods and group dynamics 
  • Ability to outstandingly facilitate and present to groups; very strong communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously are required 
  • Familiarity with all types of audiovisual equipment and computer word processors, spreadsheets, and graphics programs is preferred
  • Familiarity with eLearning software and ability to develop curriculum within platform highly preferred.
