Summary:

We are searching for a Endoscopy Technician – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll perform and coordinate a variety of routine and specialized task assignments as indicated by medical orders, nursing standards, and assessment to assist the licensed nurse and physicians in rendering age appropriate care to patients in the GIPS and other units as assigned. You will aslo act as resource for other departments regarding technical skills specific to the GI Procedures Suite.

Responsibilities :

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Performs basic nursing care in accordance with nursing standards of practice / care by observing reporting patient condition, collaborating with the RN, and documenting appropriately
  • Assists nursing staff and physicians with routine and complex procedures as assigned by the charge nurse
  • Interacts and communicates effectively with patients, families, staff, and physicians as observed by supervisor, patient surveys, feedback from patients, families, staff, and physicians
  • Enters and retrieves patient information from the different computer systems in the unit
  • Enters orders and retrieves information from the Hospital based IS programs
  • Prepares patient care areas for procedures by obtaining and setting up the appropriate supplies and equipment needed for the procedure and ensuring the equipment is functioning properly.
  • Properly cleans patient care area and equipment (e.g., bed, counters, mayo tray, etc.) following patient use by using the designated cleaning agent to clean and disinfect accordingly
  • Demonstrates cost containment and effective materials management when ordering supplies from outside vendors by communicating with the Charge Nurse/ Nurse Manager regarding budget for these supplies

 

 

 

 



Qualifications:

 

 

Skills & Requirements

 

  • High school diploma
  • Three (3) years endoscopy tech experience
  • Completion of SGNA Advanced Associates Program is preffered
  • Ability to manage time, and collaborate and communicate with others
  • Knowledge of endoscopic equipment use and maintenance; infection control standards
